These third member housings are made from billet 6061 aluminum and weigh just 24 lbs compared to the cast iron version which weighs 49 lbs. All third members come with a billet pinion support, 7075 aluminum main bearing caps, carrier adjusters, replaceable pinion support and load bolt. This billet case has added material in weak points of the stock casting making this stronger than the original housing. All parts are designed and made in-house by dedicated IMS employees.
